First, we'd like to congratulate your son on his acceptance to the McGill University in Montreal. We appreciate you coming to TD Helps with your question and we would be happy to answer it!
Whether your son is in US or Canada, managing his banking needs is easy with TD! You can absolutely make a deposit into his account in Philadelphia. Once the funds are in his TD Bank account he can then wire transfer the funds from his account here in the US to his account in Canada (and vice versa).
Wire transfers from TD Bank to TD Canada Trust are considered "Me to Me" transfers and are free. To initiate a "Me to Me" wire transfer, your son may contact our TD Cross Border Banking Support Line 24/7 at (877)700-2913 (press 1 for Canadian Support, 2 for US Support). After account verification, our Cross-Border Banking Specialists would be happy to help! For more information about our Cross-Border Banking, we invite you to take a look here: http://bit.ly/1ienPN4.
Additionally, we'd like to also inform you that as a TD Bank and TD Canada Trust Customer, your son has access to thousands of FREE TD ATMs in both the U.S. and Canada!
We hope you find this helpful, Valerie and best wishes to your son on his new journey!
