Welcome to TD Helps, Daisy. We'd be glad to help your son break into banking on his own!
Please know that in order to close a custodial account, the custodian must visit a TD Store during lobby hours even if the minor listed on the account is now of age. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
You can take a look at TD Stores in your neighborhood here: http://go.td.com/1f9DSJR.
For your son to open an account, we first recommend that he reviews the accounts we have to offer. He is able to take a look at checking accounts here: https://go.td.com/2eQORxu and savings accounts here: https://go.td.com/2dIcnAw.
If he is having trouble making a selection, he can receive a custom recommendation here: https://go.td.com/2sx4N2E.
Once he is ready to open an account, you both are welcome to visit a TD Store. He is also able to call us 24/7 at 888-751-9000 or open an account online by using the links above.
Please know regardless of the method he chooses, he will need a Social Security Number and a valid photo I.D. (Driver's License, Passport, Military I.D. etc.).
We hope this information helps you both, Daisy! Have a lovely day!
