We appreciate you reaching out to us on TD Helps, Robin.
Traveling abroad is very exciting and one can never be too prepared! TD Bank makes it easy by allowing customers to use their Visa Debit Cards at any ATM location worldwide where VISA or NYCE are accepted. We encourage you to check out our current fee schedule as it outlines any applicable fees that may come into play when you use your debit card out of the country. Check out http://bit.ly/1cTejgt to view the fee schedule.
We recommend that he carries more than one method of payment while traveling, just in case he encounters any acceptance issues. For example, enough cash to cover incidentals, public transportation and tips. Prior to traveling, he may order foreign currency at any TD Bank Store and pick up his order within two business days. Please feel free to visit http://bit.ly/1fO8wKy for more tips on traveling abroad under "Tips for Travelers".
We hope you both find this information helpful and if you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us. While your son travels, he can also contact us from outside the United States by dialing direct (856) 751-9000 or collect with operator assistance from a land line phone by asking the operator to dial 1-215-569-0518.
Have a great day Robin and we hope he enjoys his trip!
