Thank you for stopping by TD Helps, Joseph. We are more than happy to guide you in the right direction.
At this time, each Checking account holder may only receive one TD Debit Card per account. You've mentioned that your son is in High School, depending on his age, you may be able to add him to your existing Checking account as a joint account signer. Once he has been added to your Checking account, he may obtain a new TD Debit Card immediately.
If you wish to do so, both of you may visit your nearest TD Bank during lobby business hours so that both signers can sign an updated signature card. To find a TD store location near you, please visit, http://bit.ly/TDStores. Please make sure all parties, including you, bring the following documents: a valid photo I.D. (Driver's License, Passport, Military I.D. etc.) and Social Security number. If your son is under 18 and may considered a minor, acceptable forms of identification for minors include; School ID (preferably with a picture), Passport, US Birth Certificate or Social Security Card. Your parent will also need to bring a valid photo ID (State License, State ID or Passport) and their Social Security number as well.
Since your child is seems to be over 13, he does qualify for TD Bank Go Card. The TD Bank Go Card is a great way to help your teen manage their funds and also for you to keep track of their spending. The TD Go Card is easy to fund. Money may be loaded onto the card by the Account Owner using any Visa or MasterCard, 24 hours a day 7 days a week via the TD Go Card website: http://bit.ly/1wibSus. Please understand, as Savings accounts have ATM Only cards (no Visa logo) as you are unable to use this card to transfer funds into the account.
A $1 load fee applies; for a full list of fees, please see the Terms & Conditions http://bit.ly/1eSK0Du or Account Guide http://bit.ly/1zrVD2w . Account Owners and Cardholders may also set up a free direct deposit from your employer(s). The Account Owner may also invite family and friends to load funds to the card. For detailed instructions, visit us online or call 855-219-8050.
If you are interested in getting a card for your teen, you can do so by visiting this link: http://bit.ly/1jWLKzt to take you to the "Enrollment" page. Please select the "Enrollment Type" and select "Continue." You will then be asked to create your profile and a series of questions will be asked. Once you've created a profile, you will then be able to add your teen by selecting the "Adding a Teen" button. You will need to provide the teen's information and fund the card.
We hope this information helps, Joseph. Enjoy the rest of your day!
