Welcome to TD Helps, Barbara. We are happy to guide you in the right direction with your question.
We're happy to tell you that that we can convert your son's current checking account to another type of checking account with no interruption to your current account number or debit card. We're able to do so as long as you're changing among our checking products. It sounds like you've already decided on our Premier Checking account, Julie – but just in case, TD Bank offers several different types of checking accounts and you are welcome to check them out. We invite you to view our other checking account types here: http://bit.ly/1oXjGgF. We recommend comparing the current requirements of your account with the others listed to find the one which best fits you. We can also offer you our convenient checking account selector, which can be found at http://bit.ly/1vW1xnU.
To change your son's account type, we'd be happy to be of assistance with information via phone if you are a joint account holder with your son, if not he must give us a call. Our knowledgeable Customer Service Representatives are available 24/7 at 888-751-9000, and can assist your son in comparing accounts and helping with making a switch. If you would prefer to submit a request online, you're also welcome to send us a Secure Message to change the account type. To do so, please have your son log in to his online account at http://bit.ly/1eaISlq. Once he has done so, locate the Customer Service tab at the top right, and then click on Send a Message. Please submit your inquiry including your account number and the type of account you're requesting, and a friendly Representative will respond shortly.
Or if you're nearby, you're always invited to any local TD Bank Store where a Representative can provide help. Please see http://bit.ly/TDStores for a listing of locations and hours near you.
Thanks for stopping by, Barbara and we hope you have a great day.
