Good evening, Jill,
Thank you for reaching out to us with your question and please accept our heartfelt condolences during this difficult time.
In order to access or close your son's account, if you are the Executor or Administrator we kindly ask that you provide the appropriate documentation to a TD Bank Store. Required documentation includes the Executor/Administrator's photo identification as well as a copy of the Death Certificate. In addition, other documentation will be required depending on the State, such as a 'Short Certificate,' 'Certificate of Letters Testamentary' or 'Letters of Administration,' for example. The Death Certificate will provide the date of death if the date-of-death balance for the account is needed.
Please keep in mind that the documents needed can vary by State. We recommend contacting or visiting the TD Bank Store closest to where your son lived, or give us a call directly 24/7 at 888-751-9000 to speak with a Banking Specialist for further information. For Store locations and contact information, please visit: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
We hope this helps, Jill.
All the best to you and your family during this time and take care.
