we have an insurance check that is covering lightning damage to our house. the check is made out to both myself and my husband. we need to deposit the check so we can write our contractor a check to start work on the house however only my name is on the checking account. Can we deposit this into the account under just my name if we both come into the bank to do it? thanks.

Welcome to TD Helps, Will. We'd be glad to discuss.
In most cases, if your check is drawn on TD Bank, we will be happy to cash/deposit the check for you. Since you mention it is an insurance check, we recommend reaching out to a TD Store prior to your trip to discuss if we'll be able to negotiate the item.
To take a look at Store locations and their contact information please visit http://go.td.com/1f9DSJR.
We will require a valid photo ID (Driver's License, Passport, Military I.D. etc.). Additionally if you decide to cash the check, there may be a fee of $7.00 per check for this check cashing service. Please note; fees are subject to change.
We hope to hear from you soon, Will. Have a good day.
