I have an overdraft fee of 59$ I am also doing direct deposit at my job today I did not receive my check through direct deposit is it because of the overdraft fee? And how much money do I need to have in my checking account for my check to be deposited?

Thanks for contacting TD Helps today, Natalie.
You'll be happy to hear that there is no set amount that is needed to be kept in your account to accept deposits. However, please be aware that if an account was in the negative for a certain amount, when a deposit is made, the funds that were included in the deposit will go to cover the negative balance before bringing the account into a positive.
While we would like to assist you directly with your account, TD Helps is not considered a secured forum, so we are unable to discuss account specific information.
Additionally, to confirm the status of your Direct Deposit, we recommend calling and speaking with a Live Customer Service Representative at 1-888-751-9000, who are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
You're also able to visit or call any TD Store during lobby hours for assistance. To take a look at Store locations and their hours please visit http://go.td.com/1f9DSJR.
We hope this helped answer your question, Natalie, and have a great weekend.
