Hi Jade. Thanks for reaching out to us!
We certainly understand your situation and would like to help.
If the dealership is planning to pay off the loan directly and submit an over-payment, any reimbursement from a loan held with TD Bank or TD Auto Finance should be sent the owners of the loan account. As the loan and therefore the truck are in your parent's name, any reimbursement from the dealership will also likely be issued to them directly. However, we recommend confirming this with the dealership.
We recommend discussing the payment with your parents and the dealership directly. If your parents are issued any money from the trade in of your vehicle, they may be able to provide those funds directly to you, as you've been making the payments.
As we see that you're writing in to us from St. Johns, we also want to provide you with contact info for TD Canada Trust, in case this is a Canadian loan account.
You can start by posing your question to our friends at TD Helps in Canada, by clicking here: https://go.td.com/1QBOF4U. If you'd like to speak with a representative at TD Canada Trust directly, you can call their 24/7 Customer Service line at 866-222-3456.
