We recently issued an on-line banking check to a contractor. After mailing it, the intended recipient realized that he gave us an incorrect address, with no forwarding address. How will I find out if the check has been returned to the bank due to having an incorrect address?

Thank you for coming to us here on TD Helps, Christine.
First, if you have not yet done so, we recommend contacting us immediately at 888-751-9000 to request a stop payment on the check in question. You will need the check number, exact amount of the check as well as who it was made payable to (if the info is available). A stop payment request can also be placed if you visit your local TD Bank Store. For Store hours and locations, please check out: http://bit.ly/TDStores. Please note there may be a fee applied for a stop payment. Please visit: http://bit.ly/1cTejgt to view our fee schedule.
If you have made this payment as a bill payment to be mailed to your biller, please call a Tech Support Specialist directly at 800-493-7562, using Option 3.
Once we've successfully placed a stop payment on your sent check, you may then submit a new payment with any applicable correct information.
We hope this information is useful and please enjoy the rest of your evening, Christine!
