Thanks for your question today, Scott. We'd be glad to discuss how your debit card works while traveling.
You are able to use your TD Visa debit card anywhere Visa is accepted worldwide just like you would in the US. If your transactions are in different currencies, don't worry! Visa handles the conversion at the time of the transaction.
Keep in mind that for the use of a non-TD ATM, a fee may be assessed to your account. To learn more about ATM fees, please visit here: https://go.td.com/2kFZ5mK.
Prior to your trip, we encourage you to contact a Banking Specialist so they can add a travel notification to your account to avoid acceptance issues. You're able to call us 24/7 at 888-751-9000, visit any TD Store or send a secure message using online access.
Take a look at TD Stores you'd like to visit here: http://go.td.com/1f9DSJR.
To send a secure message using Online Banking, please sign in here: http://go.td.com/1eaISlq and select 'Send a secure message' located in the 'Message Center' on the left hand side of the page. For Mobile Banking, select the option to 'Contact Us' followed by 'Send a secure message' after signing in. Be sure to include the dates and destinations of your trip.
Please keep in mind, a travel notification helps us recognize unauthorized transactions on your account. Be advised that for your protection we will continue to monitor your card activity even when a notification is set. We also recommend carrying more than one method of payment while traveling, just in case you encounter any acceptance issues.

If you need to reach us while outside of the US, please feel free to send a secure message or call us 24/7 at 856-751-9000 or 215-569-0518 collect from any landline telephone. Be sure to use country code 011 when calling.
We hope this information clears up any concerns you have, Scott. Have a great trip.
