I am an international customer from Belize and would like to open an account with TD Bank. Do I have to visit one of your local branches or can I simply do everything over the phone/email and provide the necessary documentation?

We're so glad you're interested in opening an account with us, Nicole!
If you are a U.S. Citizen with a Social Security Number and U.S. mailing address, you may be able to open an account by phone or online.
If you are citizen of Belize and do not have either of the requirements list above, the account must be opened in person.
If this is the case and you will be coming to the United States soon, you'll need to bring two forms of ID with you to open up an account at TD Bank. The first should be your Belize passport. The second could be one of the following:
- Alien Registration Card with Photo
- Foreign Driver's License with Photo
- Permanent Resident Card with Photo
There may be additional forms of ID that could be accepted. We suggest checking with the Store you intend to use prior to arriving in the U.S., to ensure you have all of the necessary documents with you at the time of account opening. For tax purposes, you will be required to fill out a W8-BEN form.
