would like to set up an account with a debit card for her. If the account maintains at least $2,500 at all times, will the account be charged ATM withdrawal fees? What kind of account should be set up, checking or savings? Do we need to go into a TD Bank or can the account be set up online? Our daughter who is currently 17 will be taking a gap year in Israel before starting college. She will turn 18 after she leaves the US.

Thanks for your question, Barry. We'd be glad to help.
As you've mentioned that your daughter is under the age of 18, she would need a parent or guardian open the account with her. Please note that both parties will have equal access and rights to the account.
With that being said, we invite you to take a look at what accounts we currently offer by clicking here: https://go.td.com/2af7hJp for a list of checking accounts and here: https://go.td.com/1pJT9I9 for a list of our savings accounts.
For a personalized recommendation for a checking account click here: https://go.td.com/1vW1xnU or if you prefer, we also have a savings selector tool https://go.td.com/1vW1DvM which can help you choose the best savings account for her needs.
To open a joint account with your daughter, you need to visit a TD Store. To take a look at Store locations and their hours please visit http://go.td.com/1f9DSJR.
In reference to the account usage overseas, we recommend exploring the links above to determine the best account for your daughter while away.
Please know that you will both need a valid photo I.D. (Driver's License, Passport, Military I.D. etc.) as well as your Social Security Numbers to open an account.
We hope this helps, Barry, and have a good day.
