I am currently overseas due to a military move. I closed my TD bank account in March because I will be overseas for four years. My mother just forwarded me some mail. It states I have a $7.98 overdraft, which doesn't make sense because the banker cashed out my remaining balance on a check for me. It states I have 20 days to pay overdraft or else reported to debt collector. Just now receiving this mail, how do I resolve this and why do I have an overdraft on a closed account?

We apologize for any inconvenience this may be causing you, Megan.
To start, please understand that TD Helps is not considered a secure forum. Because of this, we do not have access to your account to determine why your account may not have been closed, and is now reflecting a negative balance.
We recommend contacting a Banking Specialist directly for further assistance. They may be reached 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at 1-888-751-9000. As you have stated that you are overseas, you may also call collect, with operator assistance, from a land line phone by asking the operator to dial 1-215-569-0518.
As your account has not yet been closed, you may also still have access to your Online Banking to send us a Secure Message if you do not have access to a phone. To send a secure message, log into your TD Bank online profile by clicking here: https://go.td.com/1eaISlq. Once you've successfully logged in, look for the 'Message Center' on the left hand side and select 'Send a secure message'. You will also have the ability to send this message from the TD Bank Mobile app. To do so, log in and select 'Send a Secure Message' from the side Menu. We can generally respond within 24 hours or less.
We apologize that we couldn’t be of further assistance, Megan. We hope you have a great day.
