Hi Kateryna. Thanks for visiting us today!
Great news! You should be able to use your TD Bank Visa Debit Card anywhere Visa is accepted. TD Bank also does not charge foreign transaction fees for purchases made outside of the United States.
The only time a fee may be applied is when your debit card is used to make an ATM withdrawal from a non-TD Bank ATM. This fee is separate from any fee the other bank or ATM company may charge. We want to provide you with options to avoid these fees when traveling.
Some stores abroad may offer you the option of receiving cash back when you make a purchase. TD Bank does not charge a fee for this service. The amount you take back in cash is simply added to your total purchase.
You may also be able to use your TD Bank Visa Debit Card to do a cash advance with a bank teller at a different financial institution. To do this, visit a bank there in the Ukraine and request to do a Visa Cash Advance with the teller. Your card will be used to withdraw funds and that transaction should post to your account as a Visa purchase, rather than a withdrawal. While TD Bank does not charge a fee for doing this type of transaction, we recommend confirming with the bank that you use if they charge a fee to perform this service.
Finally, we want to make you aware that with some of our accounts, non-TD Bank ATM fees are waived as a benefit of that account type. We may even waive the fees charged by the ATM company! To check out all of our checking accounts for an account with this benefit that might also fit your needs, please click here: https://go.td.com/2tX7kAh.
