I had some pending transactions disappear from my credit card(they were also not posted), called TD and they said that the transaction has been 'cancelled'. Is it true that once it disappears from pending transactions and is not posted either, that the merchant cannot charge you for that amount anymore? Aka it wouldn't ever be posted in a later time?

Welcome to TD Helps, Jenna.
We greatly appreciate you bringing us your concerns today.
Before we begin, we'd first like to take a moment to explain that, at this time, TD Helps is not considered a secure forum of contact. Because of this, unfortunately, we do not have access to your account to confirm if your transaction has, in fact, been cancelled. However, we'll still be happy to help.
Generally speaking, when you opt to use your debit card to make a purchase, and the merchant does not come to collect the funds from your account, the transaction may not post. Should this happen, please understand that we are unable to guarantee that this transaction will not post in the near future.
To confirm if your transaction has been cancelled and will not be debited from your account, we'd like to recommend that you connect with the merchant directly. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you, but please understand that we would be unable to confirm this information for you at this time.
Thanks again for bringing your concerns to TD Helps, Jenna, and we hope this helped.
Have a great rest of your morning, and enjoy your holiday!
