I placed a order with my visa credit card but the order never went through (I got an error when i submitted the order). I called the merchant and they said no order was placed. However, there is a pending transaction on my account for that amount. Will the amount expire or disappear after a certain time?

Hi Bonnie! Thanks for writing in to us today.
If the order was cancelled, the transaction will likely disappear and the funds show available to you. When a transaction comes through for payment, it generally with comes with an expiration date. That is the date that the merchant intends to collect funds by. If they have not collected the funds by that date, we will release the hold on those funds. Usually those holds are for approximately 5-7 business days.
If for some reason the transaction does post to your account, we recommend first reaching out to the merchant again to request a refund. If they are unwilling to issue that refund, a dispute can be filed. Just give our Credit Card Customer Service Team a call 24/7 at 888-561-8861 and we'd be happy to get that started for you. You may also stop in to any TD Bank Store to be assisted in person. To find one near you, please click here: https://go.td.com/1nq31dc.
