I received my debit card in the mail and when i try and activate over the phone with the number provided, it asks for a pin number instead of having me create a new pin. Will I be receiving a temporary pin number in the mail separately?

We'd like to let you know that when activating your new TD Debit card by calling 1-888-553-4122, the PIN requested should be the last 4 digits of your Social Security number. If you have trouble with activating your card, don't worry. Simply select "0" at any point and you'll be connected with a live Banking Specialist. You may also visit a TD Bank Store during lobby hours. For lobby hours to locations near you please visithttp://bit.ly/TDStores.

We're happy to say that the information provided above by our friends Yen and Katherine is still accurate. This line will allow you to activate both a debit card, as well as an ATM-only card. If you recently received the card, activation instructions should be included with it.
As a friendly reminder, feel free to call 1-888-553-4122 to reach our activation line. Once you have done so, you'll be prompted to enter in the last four digits of your Social Security Number, followed by a set of 4 numbers, which will be your permanent PIN. If you have trouble at all, simply press 0, and you will be directed to a Specialist who will be more than happy to help. You may also visit your nearest TD Store location.
