Looking into opening a savings account but do we need to have direct deposit done on a monthly basis? Secondly, any option of NOT having any interest on the account?

Hi Shuaib! Welcome to TD Helps.
We're so glad to hear that you're interested in opening a savings account with us!
We're happy to report that any of our interest bearing accounts, both checking and savings, can be adjusted to earn no interest at all. It's as easy as visiting us at any of our Stores. We can also report that a direct deposit is not required on any of our accounts!
We encourage you to check out all the accounts we're currently offering to see which one might work best for you. We even have a great Account Selector tool that takes into consideration how you intend to use the account to find the right fit for you. You can find that by clicking here: https://go.td.com/2sx4N2E.
Once you're ready to open the account, just click the orange 'Open Account' button under the account you'd like. You may be able to open the account entirely online. We'd also be glad to open the account for you by phone or in person at a local TD Bank Store. Just give us a call at 888-751-9000 or stop in to see us at any of our Stores. To find one near you, please click here: https://go.td.com/1nq31dc.
Regardless of how you open your account, we're here to help in any of our Stores to have the interest removed. Even if you make the request midway through the statement cycle, no interest will be accrued for that statement cycle. You can even request a reversal of interest that's already been earned.
We hope this helps, Shuaib! If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to give us a call or stop in to see us.
Have a wonderful day and Happy Holidays!
