I am concerned as to why my second checking account was charged a maintenance fee as this was an account I set up years ago and only put $5 in. If it is an issue, I just want my account closed as I do not need to use it and do not want to be charged just to have one open. Please let me know if this is possible.

Thanks for connecting with us here on TD Helps, Melanie. We understand your concern and would be happy to help.
Depending on the type of account you have, a daily minimum balance is required to avoid a maintenance fee. The monthly maintenance fee is assessed anytime your account balance falls below your daily minimum balance during your statement period and the fee will show up on the last day of your statement cycle.
