I want to send my dad money who lives in another state. He uses eastern bank. I am weary about using the "send money" app. I want to transfer XXXX dollars to his account with eastern bank. When I go to the send money part of the app do I just plug his account number and routing number in and it will directly be deposited into his account?

Good morning, Erin.
This is a great question! We understand your concerns with sending a large sum of money electronically, and we'll be happy to provide you with some peace of mind.
When opting to use TD Bank's free Send Money feature, funds can be sent to your payee, or in this case your father, by either a text message, an email, or they may also be deposited into his account directly. As you mentioned that you'd like to transfer funds to his account, we'll be happy to guide you on how this can be completed.
First, you'll want to log into your TD Bank Personal Online Banking, which you can do from here: https://go.td.com/1eaISlq. Once you have successfully logged in, click on the 'Send Money' tab, which you can find towards the top of your screen. If you have never used our Send Money feature before, you may need to accept some terms and agreements, but once that has been completed, you may then proceed!
Next, you'll want to first add your dad to your contacts, which you can do by clicking on 'Add New Contact'. Then, you'll need to add in your father's personal information, including his name and then his phone number, email address, or his account number, then simply select 'Save'. It's important to note that if you're going to send the funds directly to his account, you'll also need his routing number.
Once your dad has been saved to your contacts, you'll want to click on his name, followed by the transfer method you choose, to get started on filing in the transfer details. Simply add in the amount, the frequency of your transfer, your delivery speed, the account you would like the funds debited from. Next, just click 'Review', and after confirming that the transfer information is correct, select 'Send'.
If you have any trouble with your Send Money transfer, or if you would prefer to speak with a Specialist in regard to any questions or concerns, you may simply dial 800-493-7562. Our Tech Support Team is here to help 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our Customer Service Representatives are also happy to help, during lobby hours, at any number of our Store locations. To take a look at Store locations and their hours, please visit http://go.td.com/1f9DSJR.
We sincerely hope this information was helpful, Erin.
Take care, and enjoy your weekend!
