Welcome to TD Helps this morning, Rachel!
This is a great question, and we'll be happy to help!
Currently, TD Bank offers a free service called Send Money. This feature allows you to send person to person transfers to anyone, simply by accessing your Online Banking! All you'll need is either their phone number, email address, or account number for their financial institution. If you'd like to learn more about our Send Money feature, feel free to check out the link here: https://go.td.com/2q2Yodj.
If you'd like to take advantage of this feature, and are unsure how to, don't worry! We'll be happy to guide you.
To begin, you'll first want to log into your Online Banking, which you can do from here: https://go.td.com/1eaISlq. If you haven't signed up for Online Banking yet, that's okay, as you can start the enrollment process here: https://go.td.com/1lU2qfY. In order to complete the enrollment, you'll need your debit card number, account number, Social Security Number, and a valid email address.
Once you are able to access your online banking, towards the top of your page, you should see a tab that reads 'Send Money', which will take you directly to this person to person transfer feature. If you have never used this feature in the past, you will need to accept any terms and agreements before you can do so, and once that is completed, you'll be able to start your transfer!
The first thing you'll want to do is add your friend to your list of contacts within this feature. To do so, once you are viewing the 'Send and Receive Money' page, click on the link that reads 'Add a New Contact' towards the center, right side of your page. From here, you can enter in their first and last name, and even a nickname, if you'd like for them to appear as such in this feature. Then, you can proceed with entering their phone number, email address, or even their account number with their financial institution.
Should you choose to send the funds to their account number, please know that you will also need their routing number. Should you select their phone number or email, they will receive a message with instructions on how to accept this transfer.
After you have entered in all their information, you will be able to save this info for the future, and then proceed to entering in the amount you wish to send, and from which account you want to send the funds from. If you currently have a debit card for your TD Bank account in the United States, you'll have the option to send your transfer instantly! If you don't have a debit card, don't worry, as you'll still be able to send your transfer standard, which will be delivered to your friend in 3 business days.
If you have any trouble at all setting up a Send Money transfer, feel free to contact us at 1-800-493-7562, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and we'll be happy to help. As always, you're also able to contact your nearest TD Store location for further assistance. To take a look at Store locations and their hours, please visit http://go.td.com/1f9DSJR.
Thanks for stopping by today, Rachel. Have a great Thursday!
