I sent money to someone using Zelle, but they have had a ton of difficulty trying to get the service to work on their devices. I remember when sending the money, that it mentioned they can get it immediately with the Zelle app, but that it would otherwise be a few business days. Is it true that there is a non-Zelle way for them to receive that money? Because otherwise I don't think it will work.

We're sorry that you're having so much trouble transferring funds to your friend, and we'll be happy to help.
Here at TD Bank, we offer a Send Money feature which allows for any of our Customer's to transfer funds to anyone within the United States, free of charge. However, it's important to note that our Send Money feature uses the Zelle network, and as you mentioned that your friend is having trouble with this network, we'd like to recommend that they speak with their financial institution for further assistance with how they may receive a person to person transfer.
In the event that your friend's financial institution is unable to assist them, you would also have the option of sending your friend a wire transfer by visiting your nearest TD Store location. During your visit to a TD Store location, you will need the name, address, and ABA routing number of the receiving bank, as well as the name of the account to be credited, the beneficiary address, and the account number.
