I live in Va...currently. I have been diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's. I have been told br Dr. it is extremely important to hand finances over.
What we want to do is set up a trust account that and checks I get I or they could deposit into. But especially as things progress, I cannot have access to. We would want a debit card for it that they would keep. They would pay all bills from it and transfer a weekly allotment into my regular TD acct.
Is is possible to make my existing account where I couldn't make deposits into it? Or set up an account with a debit card tied to the trust account that only has access to that weekly fund?
I went into a TD Bank but they said I had to have an attorney draft it up as it is extremely complicated...Really?

Welcome to the TD Helps Community David. We are happy to guide you in the right direction today.
When opening a trust account, all trustees are authorized signers on the account therefore, it would be the trustee's responsibility to ensure that funds are being used in compliance with the terms of the trust.
We recommend reviewing the terms of these accounts with a banker at a TD Store location near you. Please see http://bit.ly/TDStores to find your local Store and their lobby hours, or feel free to contact a Customer Service Representative 24/7 at 1-888-751-9000. If you would like, one of our Specialists can establish an appointment at your preferred TD Bank Store for you during your call.
Please note as we would like to assist you directly, we do not have access to your personal information as TD Helps is considered an unsecured forum.
Thanks for stopping by, David and take care.
