I need to cash a settlement check upwards of 20,000 That I want to cash is it required I had an account with TD that went overdrawn is there a way I can Create a new account deposit that check wait the required clearing time as well as have the amount I owe deducted from the balance ? Also if possible what would the waiting time be?

First, you do have a couple of options to pay off the overdrawn balance on your previous TD account. Please know that the method of payment must be cash, money order, or an official check. Our Recovery Department may be reached Monday through Friday 8 am-9 pm and Saturday 8 am-5 pm at 800-742-2651 if you wish to speak with them to confirm the total outstanding balance prior making the payment. After you have satisfied the balance owed on your closed account, you may open a new account with us.
