Thank you for your question on TD Helps, Lori. We'd be happy to clarify.
At this time, checks written out to a business are unable to be signed over to a different business for negotiation including deposits. Checks made payable to a business entity, including sole proprietorships, the check must be deposited into the account owned by that business and may not be cashed.
If you have written a check to the incorrect business name or the check is no longer necessary, we ask that another check is written and presented for negotiation.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact us directly for assistance. You may do so 24/7 by dialing 888-751-9000 or by visiting your local TD Store during lobby hours. For hours and locations near you please visit http://bit.ly/TDStores.
We hope this helps, Lori and have a good afternoon.
