Hi. I just stated a new business and I would like to go to my local TD Bank branch and open a business checking account. What documentation will I need to have in order to open the checking account? I am an existing TD Bank customer and have both a personal savings and checking account with TD.

Thanks so much for your interest in growing your business with TD, Ian! Congratulations and we'll be happy to help with your new venture.
First we'd like to let you know that various documents may be needed for business account opening, depending on the type of business you have. At a minimum, you'll need the following when you stop in to see us: a valid photo I. D. (Driver's License, Passport, Military I.D., etc.), your Social Security number and your Tax Identification number. If your business account is going to have multiple signers, they will want to visit with you for the account opening process with the same forms of ID. If any of the signers are non-residents of the US, they would need two valid forms of I.D. and a W-8BEN form. You will also need to bring the legal name and physical address for the business.
To determine the other documents that may be necessary depending on the type of business you have (for example, a Corporation, LLC, etc.), we'd recommend that you discuss this with a Store Representative prior to stopping in, and please also keep in mind that business accounts must be opened in person. You're more than welcome to find the contact information for all of our Stores here: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
If you haven't already done so, feel free to review the Business Checking options we offer: http://bit.ly/1uCacgJ, or feel free to use our Business Checking Selector tool: http://bit.ly/1lGeYmw to make sure you have the best product for you. If you need assistance while reviewing these options, a Business Banking Specialist would be a happy to help via telephone at 855-278-8988. You may also request a call from a Small Business Banking Specialist; please click here: http://bit.ly/K9iZ78 to fill in our form and we'll call you within 24 business hours. And we can set you up with an appointment at your preferred Store during your call if you like.
We hope this helps you get started, Ian! All the best to you with this and we hope to speak with you again soon.
