I requested a stop payment from a company. The company added 5.99 and changed the amount. The company was the same but the amount was still taken out.

Thanks for writing in and sorry to hear you've encountered some difficulties with this stop payment, Kirk. We'll be glad to provide you with some direction.
First, we'd like to let you know that in order for a stop payment to be effective, we are in need of the exact dollar amount, as well as the correct payee name and correct check number if applicable. If your payee changed the amount they submitted for payment, this can affect the stop payment and we apologize for any inconvenience or confusion this may have caused. You can review some related information in our Deposit Account Agreement on page 10 at http://bit.ly/1kb17UQ.
To better assist you with this matter, we invite you to call us at 888-751-9000, 24/7 to speak with one of our Banking Specialists. After account verification we'd be more than happy to review your account with you. Additionally, you may visit any TD Bank Store for assistance in person. For a listing of TD Bank Stores please see here: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
We hope this will help you, Kirk and we look forward to hearing from you soon!
