I am a Canadian TD Canada Trust customer contemplating opening a TD Bank checking account to use during our trips to the USA. If I earn a few dollars (<$10) interest on the money in this account, will I have to fill out a US income tax form at year end?

We request the W8-BEN from our foreign customers who are not permanent U.S. Resident Aliens. This form is to ensure that the customer is a foreign person and are not required to report income as a United States citizen or backup withholding taxes.
