I have an existing TD Bank account. If I were to use TD Ameritrade, are the money transfers fast or even instant?

Thanks for sending your question our way, Matthew.
We'd like to begin by stating that TD Bank and TD Ameritrade are two separate businesses under the same TD Shield. Since this question relates to TD Ameritrade, we recommend reaching out to TD Ameritrade for further assistance. You can reach out to them at 800-400-3603. Here is a quick link to the TD Ameritrade web site too: http://bit.ly/1o5CpfJ.
If you do decide to open an account with TD Ameritrade and would like to transfer between your TD Bank account and your TD Ameritrade account, you may consider our External Transfers service provided via Online Banking to transfer funds. Our External Transfer service is used if you're sending money from your personal account with TD Bank to your account at another Financial Institution within the United States. You can also initiate a request for funds from your account at another Financial Institution within the United States to your TD account. When using this service to send funds, fees may apply; however, if funds are deposited into your TD Bank account from another institution, we will not be charged a fee in that instance at this time. For the Transfers Terms and Conditions please see: http://bit.ly/1pADlWD, and for more information on the fee schedule, please take a look here: http://bit.ly/1cTejgt.
In order to be eligible to use our External Transfer service, you must have a United States address, a unique United States phone number, a United States issued Social Security number and a valid unique email address. You must also be enrolled for Online Banking and be using a personal TD Bank Checking Savings or Money Market account for the transfer.
In order to enroll for this service, you must first enroll for Online Banking. You may use our self-service option by visiting http://bit.ly/1lU2qfY to begin the enrollment process. In order to do so, you will need your account number, TD Bank ATM/Debit Card, your Social Security Number and your email address. When you finish the enrollment process, you will have immediate access to your account(s).
If you do not have the required information to set up for Online Banking or you need assistance enrolling, you may contact us 24/7 at 1-888-751-9000 to speak with a Specialist. Upon proper account verification, we would be happy to help get you started.
Once you're enrolled for Online Banking, please log on to your account from here: http://bit.ly/1eaISlq. After logging onto your account, please choose the "Transfers" tab. Then click on "Transfer to Accounts Outside TD Bank." You will then be asked to accept a user agreement and review the fee schedule.
After the enrollment is completed, you may continue to schedule a transfer by adding your account at a different institution. To do so, select "Add a New Account." You will then be prompted to select the type of account followed by the account and routing numbers. Once you enter the required fields, the transfer service will then display whether or not you can make an immediate transfer. In some cases, a trial deposit is initiated at the receiving institution for verification purposes. You’re welcome to check out http://bit.ly/1jXKYqq for all of the exciting details.
If you choose to send an External Transfer, you will have two delivery options, three day or next day delivery. The next day delivery option is not available for Savings accounts. To qualify for the next day delivery option, you must wait 90 days from your first successful 3-day transfer and must not have had any transactions that overdrew your account in the past 90 days.
You may also contact TD Ameritrade directly to determine if they offer any type of transfer service via their website.
Thanks for stopping by, Matthew and have a great day!
