Great seeing you and thanks for your interest in our locations!
Currently, TD Bank Stores are located on the East coast of the U.S., from Maine to Florida, and we apologize that we do not partner with any banks in Germany or Europe at this time. For our most up-to-date list of locations, you can visit http://bit.ly/TDStores.
Although that is the case, if you bank with us already we'd like to reassure you that you'll still be able to access the funds in your TD Bank accounts when abroad and we'll be happy to review how to best make that happen here.
First, if you plan to travel, we recommend contacting us with your trip information one week in advance to prevent any decline to your cards while you're away. In case you live in Germany, we also suggest providing us with your current address so that your card will work as expected. You can do so by calling our Customer Service Line 24/7 at 888-751-9000, and we will be happy to place your travel notification. If you should need to reach us while outside the U.S., please call us from there via phone at 1-856-751-9000, or collect with operator assistance from a land line phone by asking the operator to dial 1-215-569-0518.
Another easy way to set a travel notification is to send us a Secure Message from your TD Bank Online Banking account. You can log in here: http://bit.ly/1eaISlq with your user name and password. You can then send us a secure message by clicking on the Customer Service tab, and using the Send a Message link. Please include your exact travel dates, destinations and any connecting flight information if applicable. You can also take advantage of this service should you need to reach us while away.
Keep in mind that a travel notification helps us recognize unauthorized transactions on your account. Please be informed that for your protection we will continue to monitor your card activity even when a notification is set. We also recommend carrying more than one method of payment while traveling, just in case you encounter any acceptance issues. For more travel tips while overseas, please visit http://bit.ly/1gDrDYu. We'd like to let you know that your TD Bank Visa Debit card can be used at locations worldwide that accept Visa, and can be used with any ATMS that display the Visa or NYCE logos. TD Bank does not charge any foreign transactions fees for purchases made with your TD Bank Visa Debit card. We would like to take the opportunity to advise you about fees that can be incurred while using international ATMs.
Each withdrawal, transfer, and balance inquiry made at an ATM not owned by TD is subject to a $3.00 fee at this time, which is charged by TD Bank the same day the transaction is made (subject to change). Please check out our current Fee Schedule here: http://bit.ly/1cTejgt. This may be in addition to any fee assessed by the owner of the ATM or network, and may include fees for both withdrawals and balance inquiries.
Depending on the type of account you have with us, your non-TD ATM fees may be reimbursed with a $2500.00 daily minimum balance. You may check out the chart at the link above for information about the type of accounts needed to avoid non-TD ATM fees. If you have one of these account types, we suggest keeping your foreign ATM transaction receipts. We want to make sure you are properly reimbursed for your fees! If your non-TD ATM fees are not automatically refunded to you, you can take these receipts to your local TD Bank store within 90 days for an immediate credit.
If you use any ATM in a foreign country, you may also incur international, currency exchange and usage fees regardless of the type of account you have at TD Bank. Please refer to http://bit.ly/1kb17UQ (pg. 45) for more information about what type of fees to expect.
Just in case you'll be using a TD Bank Visa Credit card during your trip, you can provide your travel information to us by reaching a Specialist on 888-561-8861, 24/7, or to reach TD Card Services from an international location, please use the toll-free collect number 706-644-3266.
If you have any questions at all, then please give us a call using the numbers first mentioned above and we'll be glad to help.
Thanks again for your message, Anja.
We hope this helps answer your question and have a great one!
