I am trying to setup my on-line account. Does TD Bank ask for the user SSN or is that a fishing site that will steal my name?

It's great to have you here on TD helps today, Sherri.
If you wish to enroll for Online Banking for your personal accounts, we do ask for your Social Security number when using our self-service option which can be found here: http://bit.ly/1lU2qfY. In order to do so, you will also need your account number, TD Bank ATM or Debit Card number and your email address. Once at the page, please select "Personal" from the drop down box. When you select continue, you will have to read and accept the Online Banking Service Agreement. Then you will be asked to enter your personal information including the items mentioned earlier and to create a user name and password. Finally you will be asked to create three security questions. When you finish the enrollment process, you will have immediate access to your account(s).
If you do not feel comfortable providing this information online, do not have the required information or you need assistance enrolling, you may contact us 24/7 at 888-751-9000 to speak with a Banking Specialist. Upon proper account verification, we would be happy to help get you started. Additionally, you have the option of visiting your local TD Bank Store during lobby hours.
