Does TD Bank verify that the direct deposit coming into the specified account number matches the name on the account as well? My old bank would not accept a direct deposit if my name was not on the account.

We do check for the name and routing and account number to ensure a direct deposit is made to the correct person.
When you set up direct deposits with your employer, please keep in mind that it generally takes 1-2 payment cycles to begin. Usually, employers will test the account first with a zero dollar deposit to make sure all your account information is correct. In that case, you don't need to take any additional actions.
