Thank you for reaching out to us on TD Helps this evening, Jose. We're sorry to see you go but we'll be sure to provide some information on how you can close your checking account.
In order for your checking account to be closed, it must be brought to a zero balance. If you still have funds in your checking account, you may use your debit card or write a personal check for the entire balance to zero out the balance. Once your balance reaches zero, there are a few ways that you close your account.
Feel free to give us call 24/7 at 888-751-9000 or visit any TD Bank during lobby hours to request the closure of your checking account. Click here: http://bit.ly/TDStores to find a TD Bank near you. Or, if you're enrolled in online banking, you can send us a secure message as well. To send a secure message, please sign into your account here: http://bit.ly/1eaISlq and select "Send a message"; which is located underneath the Message Center on the left hand side of the page. Please note that it can take up to 72 hours for an account to be closed.
If you should have any questions, please reach out to us 24/7 at the telephone number listed above or visit us at any TD Bank during lobby hours. Take care and have a good night, Jose!
