Thanks for stopping by TD Helps today, Alex. We'd be happy to give you more details on our CDs.
We are happy to help clear up any confusion that you may have about CD interest rates. To begin we recommend following: http://bit.ly/1mLvOG8 to see what the current Annual Percentage Yield (APY) interest rate we offer on our CDs. It also depends on what type of CD you are looking for a Basic CD or a Step Rate CD.
For our 5 year Basic CD, the APY is compounded annually. For Example, using the link above, in Year 1 the interest rate is 0.85%, in Year 2 it will remain 0.85% and so on until the CD reaches maturity at 5 years.
If you are asking about our 5 year Step Rate CD the interest rates operate slightly differently. In the previous link, it will also show you the cumulative APY for the 5 year CD. You will also be able to view that our 5 year Step Rate CD does earn an increased APY through each year of the CD as shown in the link above. The years are broken down showing the APY next to the corresponding year. For Example, using the link above, in Year 1 of our 5 year CD it shows the APY would be 0.35%, Year 2 would be an APY of 0.40% and then the cumulative average APY over the 5 years would be 0.64%.
If you are interested in opening a CD we would be more than happy to show you how. If you decide you wish to open a CD, you may visit here: http://bit.ly/1mLvOG8 . You will see an orange button underneath each CD reads "Open Account." You may also feel free to call us directly 24/7 at (888) 751-9000 with any questions you may have and set up your new account via telephone.
If you like as always you may stop by any of our TD Bank locations and one of our Representatives would be more than happy to provide you more details about our CDs. To find out TD Store locations near you, please visit, http://bit.ly/TDStores
You can also view our Personal Deposit Agreement that provides additional information about our CD interest rates here: http://bit.ly/1kb17UQ (page 27)
We hope this helps, Alex and have a great day!
