Hi Stepfan, thanks for joining us on TD Helps. We recently made some upgrades to our Bank-by-Phone system and would be happy to clear this up for you.
You can setup your Phone Code on the new Bank-by-Phone (IVR) system to be the same PIN you used on the old system; you'll just have to set it up again upon first use. The first time you call the new IVR, it will prompt you to enter either your account number or your TD Bank VISA Debit Card number. After that, it will ask you to confirm the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number. After entering your SSN, you will then be asked to create a unique 4 digit Phone Code to use for future access in the IVR system. This Phone Code will replace your old Bank-by-Phone PIN and is independent of the PIN# associated with your VISA Debit Card. Some tips to remember when creating your Phone Code:
- Create something unique that will be hard for others to guess
- Choose numbers that you can remember, but do not easily relate back to you (i.e. birthdates, addresses, phone numbers, etc.)
- You should not continue to use the last 4 digits of your SSN
- We recommend *not* using the same code as your Debit Card PIN Number to prevent unauthorized access
You may find it helpful to review our Bank-by-Phone guide located here: http://bit.ly/1HuHfKI. If you have any questions about using the new system, please feel free to speak with a live Banking Specialist at 888-751-9000. We're available 24/7 to help navigate you through if necessary.
We hope this helps Stepfan. Take care!
