There is a pending charge on my TD Bank debit card that is unauthorized. Am I liable to cover this charge or can it be stopped before the transaction is completed since it is pending.

Thanks for sending your question our way, Bruce. You've come to the right place.
We'd like to inform you that though a transaction may be pending on your account, it has already been deducted from your available balance, therefore it cannot be stopped.
Once this debit has fully posted to your account, you may file a dispute with us. To dispute the Debit Card/POS debit charged to your account, please visit a customer service representative at your nearest TD Bank Store here: http://go.td.com/1f9DSJR. You may also contact our 24/7 Banking Specialists at 888-751-9000, and ask to fill out a Regulation E form. This form will grant us the authority to act as your advocate and research the payment to get those funds back for you if it does turn out to be a fraudulent charge.
Once the form has been submitted, your debit card will be closed to prevent additional unauthorized transactions. You may obtain a new debit card at any TD Bank store during lobby hours or request for a card to be mailed to your address of record.
If this is an International transaction, your claim will be sent to you by mail to the current address of record for you to review, sign and return to the bank. You may return your forms by mail, fax or by visiting Customer Service at your local TD Bank store during lobby hours.
A decision on provisional credit will be made within ten (10) business days from the date the claim is filed (note- some exceptions can apply). We apologize for any inconvenience.
If you have any additional questions, or would like more details about this transaction, feel free to contact us directly at the above mentioned number, or visit your local TD Bank Store.
Thanks again for reaching out, and please take care Bruce.
