Thank you for considering TD for you banking needs, Judith! We'd be happy to help with the details.
If you already have an account with TD Canada Trust, you are more than welcome to open an account with us here in the United States because we offer many services to make your Cross Border Banking as convenient as it can be.
If you are a Canadian resident and have a legal address there, you can visit http://bit.ly/1ishIab to begin an account with TD Bank in the United States. Please click on the Open a U.S. Account button on the right side. On the page which follows, additional information about the products we offer is available. Use the Open Account buttons to select your account and begin the application process.
You may also speak with a Representative from our TD Cross Border Banking Support Line 24/7 by calling 1-877-700-2913, who can also assist you in opening the account by phone.
When you are ready to open your new account, you will need to provide your name, street address, date of birth, Social Insurance number and valid identification to complete the account opening process. Please keep in mind that your Canadian consumer credit profile will also be used to verify your identity.
If you're not a TD Canada Trust Customer, don't worry! You can open an account by visiting a TD Store near you. For hours and locations near you, take a look here: http://bit.ly/TDStores.
We invite you to take a look at the different types of Checking and Savings accounts. To view and compare our checking accounts, visit http://bit.ly/1aDaRqd or check out our Checking Selector Tool http://bit.ly/1vW1xnU for help with selecting a checking account that is the best fit for you. To view and compare savings account products, click on http://bit.ly/1pJT9I9 , or if you prefer, we also have a Savings Selector Tool http://bit.ly/1vW1DvM which can help you choose the best savings account for your needs.
Once you are ready to visit a Store, as a Non-US resident you will need to bring two forms of identification with you. One form of ID must be a Non-US passport and the second form of ID you may select from the list below:
- Employment ID with Photo and Signature
- State Issued ID or Driver's License with Signature
- Foreign Driver's License with Photo
- US Employment Authorization card with Photo, Signature and Expiration Date
- College ID with Photo
- Alien Registration Card with Photo
- Permanent Resident Card with Photo
We hope this helps, Judith and thanks again for considering TD!
