Welcome to TD Helps, Laura. We'd be glad to help make your trip go smoothly.
While traveling in Canada, you will be glad to know that if you withdraw funds at any TD Canada Trust ATM, you will not be assessed with any fees! To help you find TD Canada Trust ATMs near your travel destinations, please click here: http://bit.ly/1cZWU5e.
For transactions conducted at non-TD ATMs, the institution that owns the terminal or the network may assess a fee at the time of your transaction, including for balance inquiries. To take a look at any fees that may be applied, please view our Fee Schedule here: http://bit.ly/1cTejgt.
We also would recommend placing a travel notification on your account prior to your travel date; this will help to prevent any blocks to your ATM/Debit Card while you are traveling. You can do so by calling our Customer Service Line at 888-751-9000 or visiting a local TD Bank Store. To find a TD Bank near you, we suggest you check out http://bit.ly/TDStores.
If you are enrolled in Online Banking, another option would be to send a secure message using www.tdbank.com and request the travel notifications be added to your account. To send a secure message you must first login to your TD Bank online profile. You can do so by clicking here: http://bit.ly/1eaISlq. On the left hand side, you should see and option to "Send a secure message" located in the “Message Center.” In your message, please include the dates and destination(s) you will be traveling.
If you are not enrolled for Online Banking, you can do so for free here: http://bit.ly/1lU2qfY. You will need your Social Security number, TD Bank ATM/Visa Debit Card, your account number and e-mail address. Once you have successfully enrolled, you will have immediate access to your account(s).
By placing a travel notification, this will help us be aware if we see foreign transactions on your account. Also, please be informed that for your protection we will continue to monitor your card activity even when a notification is set.
We also recommend carrying more than one method of payment while traveling, just in case you encounter any acceptance issues. For more travel tips while overseas, please visit http://bit.ly/1gDrDYu. If you would like to exchange funds prior to your trip, you are able to do so at any TD Store during lobby hours. To take a look at any fees that may be applied for a currency exchange, please refer to the Fee Schedule listed above.
For our most up to date exchange rates, we ask that you contact us 24/7 by dialing 888-751-9000 or by visiting a TD Store. Please know that we would like to provide this figure however the exchange rate is always changing.
We hope to hear from you soon, Laura and have a good day.
