Canada Trust. Unfortunately I tried may ways with TD and the only solution was opening a US account at Royal Bank and using their New York Routing Number. I would prefer to deal solely with TD and not have to open additional accounts. Is TD working on a solution for seamless cross-border payroll deposits similar to Royal?

Hello Tim, thanks for writing to us here at TD Helps. We are sorry to hear you are experiencing difficulties and would be happy to provide an alternative option.
Since you already have an account with TD Canada Trust, you may wish to open an account with TD Bank here in the US for your direct deposit purposes. Once you receive your direct deposit into your US Account, you may then transfer the funds into your TD Canada Trust Account by utilizing our Cross Border Banking feature, which is a service provided free of charge.
If you are a Canadian resident and have a legal address there, you can visit http://bit.ly/1ishIab to begin an account with TD Bank in the United States. Please click on the Open a U.S. Account button on the right side. On the page which follows, additional information about the products we offer is available. Use the Open Account buttons to select your account and begin the application process.
You may also speak with a Representative from our TD Cross Border Banking Support Line 24/7 by calling 1-877-700-2913, who can also assist you in opening the account by phone.
When you are ready to open your new account, you will need to provide your name, street address, date of birth, Social Insurance number and valid identification to complete the account opening process. Please keep in mind that your Canadian consumer credit profile will also be used to verify your identity.
Once both of your accounts are set up, you can transfer funds between your TD Bank US and TD Canada Trust accounts, free of charge, using our Cross Border Banking service. If you wish to, please feel free to speak with a Representative from our TD Cross Border Banking Support Line 24/7 at the number listed above. With this feature, you are able to do your banking without having to visit a TD Store! For more information, please take a look here: http://bit.ly/1ienPN4.
Additionally, you'll have the option of viewing your TD Bank US account together on the same screen with your TD Canada Trust account via EasyWeb. To make this happen, you may submit this request in person by visiting a TD Bank US location or a TD Canada Trust location, whichever it convenient to you. To find out TD Bank US locations near you, please visit, http://bit.ly/TDStores. To find out TD Bank Canada Trust locations near you, please visit, http://bit.ly/HqySjY. Or, give a call to our Cross Border Specialists, who can also link the accounts for you.
We hope this helps. Let us know if you have any other questions.

Actually, I have already a personal Cross-Border account in the US.
My question on the both comments from you and Kristen was: Does this service you both mentioned from TD also applies for BUSINESS ACCOUNTS?

At this time, our Cross Border Banking wire transfers are only eligible for personal accounts. We apologize if this causes any inconvenience.

How long does the transfer of funds take from the US TD account into the TD Canada Trust US account? Is it immediate, 24 hours, longer?
March 23, 2016 08:12:52 AM
In reply to Christopher, Troy
Thank you for joining our conversations here on TD Helps, Christopher.
When transfer funds from your TD U. S. account to your TD Canada Trust account via telephone, if the transfer is made before 2pm EST, funds should be available in your TD Canada Trust account the next business day. If the transfer is made after 2pm EST, funds should be available in your TD Canada Trust account the day after the following business day.
Thanks again for writing in, Christopher. Cheers!

Can I set up this TD US account through the on line process with two users? I would like myself and my wife to have access to the US account.
April 25, 2016 05:11:11 PM
Thanks for reaching out to us today, Christopher! We'll be sure to share some information with you regarding online banking.
In order for your wife to have access to your online banking account, she would need to be a joint owner on your account. Feel free to open the account online or with one of our 24/7 Cross Border Banking Specialists by giving us a call at 1-877-700-2913. From there, your wife can be added to your account if you both visit a TD Bank during lobby hours with proper photo ID. Click here: http://bit.ly/TDStores to find a TD Bank near you.
We hope this answers your question, Christopher and have a wonderful night! Take care.

I went onto the link to find a TD bank near me in Troy , MI and nothing was available. So I am not sure how to add my wife to the account if there isn't a branch nearby. Please advise how best to proceed.

Welcome to TD Helps, Christopher. We're sorry for any confusion and we'll be sure to point you in the right direction today.
We apologize as we do not have any TD locations in Michigan. At this time, TD Bank has Store locations along the east coast from Maine to Florida. Please follow this link: http://bit.ly/TDStores for information on TD Stores near you. Please stay tuned for any new updates.
Once you are able to make it into a Store, please make sure that both parties, including you, bring the following documents: a valid photo I.D. (Driver's License, Passport, Military I.D. etc.) and Social Security number. Once the new signer has been added to your TD Checking or Money Market account, a new debit card can be issued to her instantly.
Thanks for reaching out to us, Christopher and have a great day.

I am having similar problem, I opened an USD account in TD Canada and it didn't work. So I was advised by TD Canada to open a TD Bank US account. I spent over an hour on the phone to open the account and forward the direct debit form to my US employer, but the accounting representative said "To be paid via the Bill.com ePayment network, you'll need an account at a US bank. We can't establish connections to non-US bank accounts even if they're USD accounts."
Is this a problem with the platform or the fact that TD Bank US is considered a non-US bank account?
Thanks for your help!

Thanks for visiting TD Helps, Charmaine.
Even though TD Bank and TD Canada Trust are sister banks under the TD Shield, we are different banks located in different countries.
Accounts with TD Bank N.A. are located in the United States and are eligible to receive direct deposits.
If you are having difficulty setting up a direct deposit we recommend that you contact the payroll department and verify that the routing and account numbers are correct. You can find your routing and account numbers on the bottom of a check and your routing number by clicking this link: https://go.td.com/2bjcv63.
Please don't hesitate to reach out to us if you have any additional questions or concerns. We can be reached 24/7 at 1-888-751-9000. You may also send us a secure message via TD Bank Online by logging in here: https://go.td.com/1eaISlq.
We hope this helps and you have a great day.

What is the recommended way to move funds the other direction. I live in the US but I work and I am paid in Canadian funds. How can I get my Canadian funds transferred into US funds and accessible in the US? I am a Canadian Citizen.

You may also review the link here: https://go.td.com/2v9bfJZ to learn more about our Cross Border Banking services.
