We appreciate you reaching out to us on TD Helps, Jennifer.
We'd be more than happy to assist you with the details on placing a stop payment for an electronic payment. We recommend placing an electric stop payment at least three (3) business days prior to the regularly scheduled payment date. To ensure the stop is placed successfully you must precisely identify the account number, date, amount of the payment, check number (if applicable) and the payee. An important note to remember is that you are unable to place a stop payment on a debit card transaction or an electronic payment made via Bill Pay.
You have multiple ways to place a stop payment. You may log into your Online Banking, choose the "Service" tab and then "Stop Payment". To log into your account please visit: http://bit.ly/1eaISlq. If you're not already enrolled, please check out: http://bit.ly/1lU2qfY to get signed up. Please have the following information ready when enrolling: your Social Security Number, your TD Bank ATM/VISA Debit Card, one of your TD Bank account numbers and your email address. You may also speak with one of our Digital Specialist to enroll 24/7 at 800-493-7562.
Another option is that you may also contact one of our Banking Specialists 24/7 at 1-888-751-9000 to place your stop payment or reach out to our easy-to-follow automated system at 1-800-YES-2000 (1-800-937-2000). Feel free to check out http://bit.ly/1o5rsW6 for our automated phone system menu chart.
Lastly, you are always welcome to visit any TD Bank Store to place your stop payment. Feel free to visit http://bit.ly/TDStores for locations near you.
For some accounts, there is a fee for stop payments; you may view our Fee Schedule here: http://bit.ly/1cTejgt .
We hope you find our answer helpful and please don't hesitate to return to TD Helps if you have any further questions.
