I just returned a merchant purchase and knowing it will take a few days to credit. I realized i might have lost my debit card. When i close that account and switch to a new card will that return go onto the new card or do i loose that merchant credit?

Thanks for coming to TD Helps tonight, Katie! We'll be sure to go over some useful information with you this evening.
We'd like to let you know that when you dispute a transaction with a merchant, the funds will be deposited into your account, regardless of your debit card number. Being that you think that you've misplaced your debit card, we recommend closing your debit card as soon as you can. Please keep in mind that obtaining a new debit card will not affect your refund. You can give our 24/7 Banking Specialists a call at 888-751-9000 or you can visit us at any TD Bank during lobby hours. Once our Specialists verify your account information, they'll be able to close your current debit card and provide ways for you to obtain a new one. Click here: http://bit.ly/TDStores to find a TD Bank near you.
We hope this answers your question, Katie and have a good night! Take care.
