Hello, I am a 17 year old wanting to start a student checking account. I have my ID and SS card, do I need anything else? I have a part time job and I want to start a bank account so I can save my money and also put it on a card. My parents don't have an account at TD either, and I can't make an account at their bank because you have to be 17 years old. I also don't have proof that I go to school, but I am a senior in high school. Will that be an issue? Also, does my parent need to come with me to make an account & what should they bring?

Thanks for considering TD Bank, Shirley! It's our pleasure to tell you more.
In order to open an individual account with TD Bank, you're required to be 18 years of age or older. With that being said, for students under the age of 18, you may open a joint Checking or Savings Account with a Guardian or Custodian by visiting any TD Bank Store.
If you're over the age of 18, you can visit a Store with a valid form of identification such as a State License, State ID or Passport and your Social Security number to open the account. If you're a student, you'll also want to provide proof of full-time enrollment such as a Student ID or a tuition payment receipt to be eligible for the student account.
If you're under the age of 18, your parent or guardian to be listed on the account will want to bring the same forms of ID listed above, and acceptable forms of identification for minors include a School ID (preferably with a picture), Passport, US Birth Certificate or Social Security card. Joint accounts may only be opened at a TD Bank location. Please check out: http://bit.ly/TDStores for a TD Store near you. Please keep in mind that depending on your age, the account may be opened at the discretion of your local TD Bank Store manager.
