I went to a restaurant this weekend and I just noticed I have the charge pending (the amount without the tip) but the same charge with tip has cleared. Will the pending charge drop or are these two different charges?

Duplicate holds like this are not uncommon when using your credit or debit card. It is most often due to the machine being unable to read your card, or an error transmitted when your card is swiped. Therefore, the card may have been swiped a second time and two authorizations get transmitted to us. Please be sure to monitor your account to ensure that the duplicate pending authorization will not post to your account.
