Thanks for visiting us today, Karen.
We are happy to inform you that you can use your TD ATM debit card at any locations that accept VISA across the globe! While you are away, you can make ATM withdrawals from any machine that displays the VISA or NYCE logo. We encourage you to check out our current fee schedule, http://bit.ly/1cTejgt, as it outlines any applicable fees that may come into play when you use your debit card out of the country.
We'd also like to let you know just in case you are unable to find an ATM that is compatible that with the TD Bank Debit Card, it may be used to obtain a VISA Cash Advance. Also, cards bearing the Visa logo are accepted at locations all over the world. However, please be sure to carry more than one method of payment while traveling, just in case you encounter any acceptance issues. Please check out: http://bit.ly/1fO8wKy for a few tips to manage your money when traveling. You may also want to review our international travel tips frequently asked questions by clicking here: http://bit.ly/1ltwDDc.
You also mentioned you have not notified us of your travels. To avoid any interruptions with her debit card usage, we recommend placing Travel Notifications on your checking account. To reach us while travelling outside the US, please use (856)-751-9000. Additionally, you can call collect from a landline at 00+1-215-569-0518.
If you're setup for online banking, another option would be sending a secured message using www.tdbank.com and requesting Travel Notifications to be added to your account. To send a secured message, you must first log on to your TD Bank online profile. On the left hand side, you should see and option to "Send a secure message" located in the “Message Center”. Please be sure to provide us your travel dates and destinations in your message.
If you are not set up for Online Banking, please visit here: http://bit.ly/1lU2qfY. Keep in mind that you will need your account number, Social Security number and ATM/debit card handy to complete the enrollment process. If you do not have the required information to set up for Online Banking or if you need assistance enrolling, please call us at one of the numbers provided above. Upon proper account verification, we would be happy to help get you started.
By placing a travel notification, this will help us be aware if we see foreign transactions on your account. Also, please be informed that for your protection we will continue to monitor your card activity even when a notification is set. We also recommend carrying more than one method of payment while traveling, just in case you encounter any acceptance issues.
We hope this helps and please let us know if you need anything else. Enjoy your trip!
