Welcome to TD Helps, Pam. We appreciate your consideration in banking with TD Bank.
Before we begin, we'd like to share with you the many different types of accounts TD Banks has to offer. To view and compare our Checking accounts, visit http://bit.ly/1aDaRqd or check out our Checking Selector Tool http://bit.ly/1vW1xnU for help with selecting a Checking account that best fits you. To view and compare Savings account products, click on http://bit.ly/1pJT9I9, or if you prefer, we also have a Savings Selector Tool http://bit.ly/1vW1DvM which can help you choose the best Savings account for your needs.
You have several options available to open an account. Please note, your options vary depending on your Citizenship. If you are a U.S. Citizen and have a U.S. Driver's License and Social Security number, then you can reach out to a Banking Specialist by phone at 888-751-9000 if unable to make it into a TD Store location. Our Specialists are available 24/7 to assist you with setting up your account(s). Please have your Driver's License and Social Security number available when you call.
If you happen to be a Canadian Citizen but currently live in the U.S., then you can reach out to a Cross-Border Banking Specialist at 877-700-2913 Option 2 anytime day or night. Our Cross-Border Banking Specialists are available 24/7 to meet your banking needs and help you set up a Cross-Border account. We can also link your new U.S. account to an existing TD Canada Trust account if you have one already. Or, if you'd prefer, you can follow this link to open a Cross-Border account online: http://bit.ly/1vW1DvM. In just about 12 minutes you can setup an account and it's ready to use the next business day!
Regardless of where your Citizenship is, you could always make it into a TD Bank Store to open the account you're interested in. We have Stores all along the East Coast spanning from Maine to Florida and you can locate the nearest one here: http://bit.ly/TDStores. Just bring 2 forms of valid ID with you when you come in. If you have any questions about which IDs are acceptable, please call ahead to confirm just in case.
We hope this helps, Pam. Please let us know if you have any other banking questions.
