We want to open accounts and transfer funds, leaving some small amounts in our Madison bank. Can we open accounts (checking and saving) and then later use electronic funds transfer?

Hey Walter. We're excited to hear that you are considering us for your banking needs!
We offer many types of Checking and Savings Accounts that can fit your needs. Take a look here: http://bit.ly/1f9fEn9 for detailed information about each checking account available. We recommend taking a look at our Checking selector tool here: http://bit.ly/1vW1xnU. This tool will provide you with a personalized checking account recommendation. You should also take a look here: http://bit.ly/1hzzhPT for more detailed information on each particular Savings Account available at TD Bank. You may find it helpful to check out our customized Savings Selector tool, found here: http://bit.ly/1vW1DvM.
We currently offer many ways in which you can open an account with TD Bank. You’re able to call our 24/7 Customer Service Line at 1 (888) 751-9000, or you may visit our website at: http://bit.ly/1fN7u4i or stop by at any local TD Bank Store. To find the nearest TD Bank Store and hours please visit http://bit.ly/TDStores.
If you'd like to transfer from another financial institution to TD Bank, we recommend contacting them directly for assistance in making a transfer either online or via wire.
Once you have a TD account, transferring between institutions is now easier than ever with our External Transfer service and Person-to-Person payments though Online Banking!
Person-to-Person Payments allows TD account holders to send money to other institutions and request money within the U.S. We invite you to take a look here: http://bit.ly/1h4ZIkL for additional details.
Our External Transfer service is very similar. When logged in to our Online Banking, account holders are able to send funds from their account to accounts they hold at other financial institutions. Please take a look here: http://bit.ly/1o7dO68 to learn more.
For both of these transfer services you will need to know your account number and routing number to schedule transfers to accounts outside of TD.
As an account holder, if you do decide to use either of these services please know that there may be fees applied. To learn more, please take a look here: http://bit.ly/1cTejgt.
In order to utilize these transfer services, you will need to enroll in Online Banking. If you are not enrolled for Online Banking, you are able to sign up here: http://bit.ly/1lU2qfY. You will need your account number, Social Security Number, ATM/Visa Debit Card Number and email address to complete the enrollment process.
If you have any trouble signing up, feel free to call us 24/7 by dialing also the number listed above and after account verification our Specialists would be happy to help get you online.
Changing banks can be challenging. We’ve developed this Easy Switch Checklist to help you navigate the process. Check out http://bit.ly/1nEm90e to see this easy-to-follow guide
Thanks again, Walter for visiting us today and please stop by again anytime. We hope this has been helpful!
