I'm i trying to open and account for a nonprofit organization. I was wondering what the changes are to open a checking account and if there are any other charges to the account at any other time. Also can i open an account under the name of an organization because there will be a few different people handling the account

Great to hear from you and we'd like to thank you for your interest in banking with us!
We'd be more than happy to discuss the options available to you here for your non-profit.
To get started with an account, there is usually only a small minimum required. Our Business accounts are used for both profit and non-profit entities, and you can visit http://bit.ly/1uCacgJ to see our current options. Or, you can take a look here to get a customized recommendation with our Business Checking Selector: http://bit.ly/1lGeYmw. Once you have found an account you like, click on the "View Account Guide" link which is listed below each account title. Once this page opens, it will review in detail any minimum needed to open that account and fees that may apply to the account.
To answer your remaining question, typically business accounts are opened under the name of the entity and any authorized signers are also added. Anyone you wish to have access to the account must be listed as an authorized signer.
To answer any other questions you may have or to make an appointment at one of our Stores near you, please call 855-278-8988 to speak with a TD Bank Business Specialist. If you prefer, you can request a call from us - please follow this link: http://bit.ly/1qXQhdr and fill out our form. We ask that you do not include any confidential information such as Social Security numbers, Tax Identification numbers, or account numbers via email.
Once you are ready to open your account, ir you didn't choose to make an appointment, you can stop in to any of our Stores during lobby hours at your convenience. If you need it, please find a Store here: http://bit.ly/TDStores, where a Customer Service Representative would be happy to help. To open the account, each signer will need to be present and each of you will need your Social Security number and a valid personal ID such as a Passport or Driver's License. You will also need documentation for your non-profit and to determine what will be needed, we recommend that you contact your preferred Store prior to stopping in.
Thank you again for choosing TD, Joslyn.
We welcome your reply if you have additional questions. Thanks and we look forward to talking with you soon!
