I am currently studying abroad in London and I was just informed that there is a fee every time I swipe my card, is this true? If so, is it a flat rate or percentage of the purchase? Are there any perks given to students studying abroad?

Good day, Mike and thank you for writing in from London.
Your TD Visa debit card is convenient, secure and rewarding- so you can shop and bank with confidence. You can use your TD Visa debit card at millions of locations that accept Visa across the globe. At this time, we do not charge foreign transaction fees when using your TD Visa debit card making purchases overseas, including London, UK.
While you are away, you can also make ATM withdrawals from any machine that displays the VISA or NYCE logo. Please note; each time a Non-TD Bank ATM is utilized, including international ATMs, a non-TD ATM fee may apply depending on your account type. For more information on our fee schedule, please take a look here: http://bit.ly/1cTejgt. You also may be assessed an additional fee (surcharge) at the time of your withdrawal. This fee is set by the machine owner and not associated with TD Bank. We'd like to share with you that we do have some deposit account products either will waive non-TD ATM fees or receive unlimited ATM surcharge refunds. For more information, please refer to the fee schedule provided above.
