I didn't know that I had to maintain a balance in my savings account prior to me signing up. Once I signed up I was told if I cancel I would be charged a fee for canceling before 3 months. I am young and still working on building my savings and as I pay college loans it is hard to put $25 away every month. Just wanted to know what the fee is if I cancel

Good morning Tuh and thanks for sending us your question to TD Helps.
Based on the information you provided, sounds like you have a TD Simple Savings account. We invite you to visit here: http://bit.ly/1cDNIR3 for all the information you may want to know about this product type. Please note that you can close your TD Simple Savings account at any time and there is no cost to close this type account. However, depending on the Checking account type you currently have with us, some accounts do require a daily minimum balance to avoid a monthly maintenance fee.
You mentioned you were a student, if you are currently a full time college student and are under 24 years old, you may wish to click here: http://bit.ly/1gcgwnr and you will find out that our Student Checking account may fit your needs best as there are so many benefits we currently offer, for example:
• No monthly maintenance fee or minimum daily balance requirement
• No monthly maintenance fee on a TD Simple Savings account linked to a TD Student Checking account
To best assist you, we encourage calling us 24/7 at 888-751-9000 to discuss your situation with a Banking Specialist. As we would like to assist you directly, unfortunately, we do not have access to your personal information since this is considered an unsecured forum.
